       Scylacognathus was named a year before another genus caled Arctops which may actually be the adult form of Scylacognathus.‭ ‬If correct then only Scylacognathus would be a valid genus of gorgonopsid,‭ ‬and the skulls attributed to Arctops will be added to Scylacognathus.
