Size: About 1.2-1.4 meters long.
Known locations: USA, Oklahoma - Chickasha
Formation.
Time period: Kungurian of the Permian.
Fossil representation: Skeletons of several
individuals.
Varanodon was a genus of pelycosaur that lived in the USA during the Permian period. Varanodon should not be confused with the similarly named Varanops and Varanosaurus, two other genera of closely related pelycosaurs.
