A relative of the famous Tanystropheus, Raibliania was a long necked archosauromorph predator that lived in Europe during the late Triassic. Although expected to have a body form very much like Tanystropheus, Raibliania has displayed clear differences in the form of the caudal vertebrae as well as the tooth. While tanystropheids have in the past been regarded as aquatic predators, more popular thinking suggests that the older interpretation of tanystropheids as beach combers may be the more accurate. As such Raibliania may have visited tidal pools to snatch up fish and other aquatic organisms that had been caught out and left behind by the outgoing tide.
