Named By: Efremov‭ ‬-‭ ‬1938.
Classification: Chordata,‭ ‬Synapsida,‭ ‬Eupelycosauria,‭ ‬Varanopidae,‭ ‬Mycterosaurinae.
Species: M.‭ ‬romeri‭ (‬type‭)‬.
Diet: Carnivore.
Size: Holotype roughly about‭ ‬37-38‭ ‬centimetres long.
Known locations: Russia‭ ‬-‭ ‬Krasnoshchel‭' ‬Formation.
Time period: Wordian of the Permian.
Fossil representation: Almost complete.

       Mesenosaurus is a genus of varanopid pelycosaur that lived in Russia during the Permian.
