Size

Uncertain due to lack of remains,‭ ‬but holotype,‭ ‬which is a juvenile/subadult is roughly estimated to be about‭ ‬4-6‭ ‬meters long at the time of death.‭ ‬Fully grown adults would have been larger.

Known locations

France‭ ‬-‭ ‬Gr�s � Reptiles Formation.

Time Period

Late Campanian/Early Maastrichtian of the Cretaceous.

Fossil representation

Partial sacrum of a subadult.‭ ‬Additional fossil bones found near to the holotype have also been assigned to the genus and these include vertebrae,‭ ‬ribs and limb bones.

In Depth

       Garrigatitan is a genus of titanosaur that lived in Western Europe during the late Cretaceous.‭ ‬Known only from partial remains of an immature individual,‭ ‬Garrigatitan seems to have been a fairly small titanosaur,‭ ‬even when fully grown.
