       Elliotherium is a genus of cynodont that lived in South Africa during the late Triassic.‭ ‬Elliotherium is named after the Elliot formation where the holotype fossil was recovered from and combined with the word‭ ‘‬therium‭’ ‬which translates to English as‭ ‘‬beast‭’‬.
