D.‭ ‬zhangi‭

Size

Holotype roughly estimated to be around‭ ‬4‭ ‬meters long,‭ ‬but this is confirmed as a juvenile.‭ ‬Full adult size is unknown.

Known locations

China,‭ ‬Sichuan Province.

Time Period

Oxfordian of the Jurassic.

Fossil representation

Partial skull and partial post cranial remains including vertebrae and a femur.‭ ‬Type specimen is of a juvenile.

In Depth

       Daanosaurus is based upon the description of a partial skeleton with some skull bones that have been confirmed to be those of a juvenile.‭ ‬This has been confirmed by the complete lack of fusion in the holotypes vertebrae.‭ ‬Daanosaurus has been identified as a member of the Brachiosauridae sauropods,‭ ‬and may be a particular close relative of Bellusaurus.
