Flexicalymene is a commonly found trilobite. It can be confused with Calymene.

Early on Flexicalymene was grouped together with Calymene.

Flexicalymene today is a close relative of Calymene with how similar they are to one another.

Some Flexicalymene species are even used as index fossils for how abundant they are.
