Although not well known, Archaeodontosaurus is of interest because the genus appears to have been a sauropod while retaining sauropodomorph (porsauropod) like teeth. This might not be that unusual when you think that sauropods were descended from the sauropodmorphs, but in Archaeodontosaurus it seems that even though the body was changing, the diet was still largely the same.
