S.‭ ‬bondei‭

Size

Body length from skull to pelvis about‭ ‬8-9‭ ‬centimetres,‭ ‬but holotype specimen is crushed and slightly distorted.‭ ‬Tail not preserved but a rough impression remains indicating an additional tail of length of at least‭ ‬36‭ ‬millimeters,‭ ‬though the end of the tail and therefore total length is not known.

China,‭ ‬Hebei Province‭ ‬-‭ ‬Tiaojishan Formation.

Time Period

Bathonian-Oxfordian of the Jurassic.

Sinomacrops is a genus of anurognathid pterosaur that lived in South-East Asia during the Jurassic.‭ ‬Even when compared to other anurognathids,‭ ‬Sinomacrops seems to have been tiny and was probably a hunter of insects.‭ ‬When compared to other anurognathid genera,‭ ‬Sinomacrops seems to have‭ ‬been similar to‭ ‬another tiny pterosaur called Batrachognathus.
