       A procolophonomorph parareptile from Russia,‭ ‬Rhipaeosaurus lived during the Mid Permian. Rhipaeosaurus was originally placed within its own group the Rhipaeosauridae,‭ ‬though later analysis seems to place Rhipaeosaurus somewhere between being a nycteroleterid to a basal pareiasaur.
