       Originally described as a species of Dicynodon,‭ ‬Pelanomodon was a genus of dicynodont that lived in South Africa during the Permian.‭ ‬The type species of Pelanomodon is P.‭ ‬moschops,‭ ‬which should not be confused with the genus Moschops.
